You called preflop, the flop comes, and the aggressor c-bets. Many people make one of two mistakes: folding almost everything (and becoming exploitable) or calling with anything (and bleeding chips). The balance is in the middle.
Three responses
- Raise: strong hands (good top pair, two pair+, sets) for value, and sometimes big draws as a semibluff.
- Call: medium hands and draws with enough equity. Vs a 2/3-pot bet you need ~29% to continue.
- Fold: air with no draw. Don't call “to see if it hits” if you're not getting the price.
✓ Consejo: Count your outs: a flush draw (9 outs) has ~36% on the flop — enough to call almost any c-bet. A low pair with nothing, often not.
⚠️ Error común: Over-folding vs c-bets makes you exploitable: your opponent will always bet knowing you give up.
