The second and third barrel

Betting the flop is easy. Knowing when to keep betting on the turn and river separates the good players.

You made a on the flop and got called. The turn arrives: do you keep betting (second barrel) or check? This decision, made well over and over, is worth a lot of money.

Cards that help you barrel

The best cards for the second barrel are the ones that improve your range or scare the opponent (scare cards): high cards that connect with your raising hands, or cards that complete draws you represent.

EjemploYou raised with AK, flop Q72, you bet and get called. The turn is the J: now you threaten a straight and add a flush draw to your story. It's an excellent second barrel.

When to stop

✓ Consejo: Before you barrel, ask yourself: is this card good for my range or for theirs? If it's for yours, fire. If it's for theirs, stop.
💡 Clave: Barrel the cards that improve your story; stop on the ones that improve the opponent's or that no longer scare anyone.
